Certifications

Sonkyo Energy has obtained the ISO 9001:2008 certification for the “design and manufacture of small wind turbines”, granted by LRQD, an international certifier, subsidiary of Lloyds Registers.

The award has been obtained last October and involves an international recognition to the manufacturing process of the Windspot small wind turbines  that uses a patented variable pitch system.
ISO 9001 Sonkyoenergy
Quality Management Department at Sonkyo Energy has been audited to be given the ISO certification. The two stages audited were:

First audit stage focused on checking of Quality Management design and compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standard and certification requirements and also on the validation of the management system.

During the second stage, in October 2010, LRQA audited the implantation of the management system for the design and manufacturing of small wind turbines as well as the compliance with the certification requirements. After finishing the audit, Sonkyo Energy was awarded with the ISO 9001:2008 certification for Quality Management Systems.

Sonkyo Energy
collaborates on their own initiative with official bodies that run independent studies on our wind turbines to certify the real power curve they offer and their reliability.

We know that Windspot, despite its small size, is a great wind turbine and that is why we work towards independent certification which demonstrates that with real data available, Windspot is a winner because it really produces what others can only promise.

Sonkyo Energy is also working on creating three trial wind farms in Cantabria. In different environments: marine, mountain and urban, our wind turbines will be tested to determine reliability and productivity. The future trial farm will be used to test innovations from our R&D&I team.

Below are some of the bodies with whom we work:

SEPEN

SEPEN (Site Expérimental pour le Petit Eolien de Narbonne) is an independent research center in the Languedoc-Roussillon region whose main aim is testing wind turbines between 1Kw and 10Kw capacity. SEPEN has already tested wind turbines made by some of the most important manufacturers in the world. The test results are published in its website and are available for everyone upon receipt of the manufacturers consent. The main points which the test focused on are safety, reliability, productivity and noise.
SONKYO ENERGY trusts SEPEN for the certification of its own wind turbines.

SEPEN has tested the WINDSPOT 3.5 wind turbine prototype for on-grid connection during 7 months.

CIEMAT

CIEMAT (Centre for energy, environmental and technological research) is an organization belonging to the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Their tasks involve certifying the real performance of small wind turbines.  Sonkyo Energy, on their own initiative, is negotiating rigorous testing of Windspot with CIEMAT to certify its productivity, reliability and noise.

SWCC

Small Wind Certification Council (USA) is an organization founded in 2010 to certify small wind turbines in the USA. SONKYO ENERGY has already began the process to certify Windspot.
